Executive Summary

IRIS Education & Training Services was engaged by WaterAid Pakistan to support the development of evidence-based advocacy briefs, research products, knowledge resources, and policy communication materials focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues affecting vulnerable communities in Sindh.

The assignment aimed to transform research findings, field evidence, and stakeholder perspectives into practical advocacy tools capable of informing policy dialogue, influencing decision-making, and strengthening public awareness regarding WASH challenges and solutions.

IRIS conducted literature reviews, stakeholder consultations, policy analysis, evidence synthesis exercises, and technical writing processes to produce high-quality knowledge products that supported advocacy campaigns, sectoral engagement, and development programming.

The project strengthened evidence utilization within the WASH sector and contributed to improved communication between researchers, development organizations, policymakers, and community stakeholders.

Key Achievements & Impact

The project successfully improved access to evidence-based information within the WASH sector, strengthening advocacy efforts aimed at improving water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

Eight high-value knowledge products—including Advocacy Briefs, Policy Summaries, and Evidence Review Reports—were delivered. These tools enabled development practitioners and policymakers to better understand sector challenges and contributed directly to informed decision-making and increased visibility of WASH issues affecting vulnerable populations.
