Healthcare facilities play a critical role during disasters and emergencies. Effective preparedness planning is essential to ensure continuity of services, protection of vulnerable populations, and coordinated emergency response. This assignment was undertaken to strengthen disaster readiness and operational resilience within healthcare facilities.
The assignment employed a comprehensive methodology involving facility assessments, risk assessment workshops, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and emergency planning exercises, ensuring practical and tailored preparedness frameworks.
The project successfully examined existing emergency response systems, resource availability, infrastructure vulnerabilities, and human resource capacities across Sindh's healthcare institutions.
Key achievements include the development of comprehensive Facility Disaster Preparedness Plans, Risk Assessment Reports, and Operational Continuity Guidelines. These outputs have enabled healthcare institutions to improve resilience, minimize service disruption during emergencies, and strengthen coordinated disaster response mechanisms.
