As Pakistan continues to face energy challenges and climate-related risks, renewable energy has emerged as a critical component of sustainable development. The Solar Energy Development Exposure Visit Program was designed to bridge the youth unemployment gap by introducing young people to the renewable energy sector and helping them understand future opportunities in green skills, clean energy technologies, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
The assignment employed an experiential learning approach, involving industry exposure visits, technical facility tours, interactive learning sessions, and stakeholder networking activities to provide hands-on understanding of green economy opportunities.
The project successfully engaged over 500 youth beneficiaries, significantly improving their understanding of renewable energy technologies and expanding awareness of employment and entrepreneurship opportunities within the green economy.
Beneficiaries gained practical insights into solar energy systems, technical career pathways, and sustainable development practices. By connecting young people directly with renewable energy professionals and technology providers, the initiative contributed to vital workforce preparedness while encouraging participation in environmentally responsible economic sectors.
