Executive Summary

IRIS Education & Training Services facilitated the Solar Energy Development Exposure Visit Program to strengthen youth awareness, technical understanding, and career opportunities within Pakistan's growing renewable energy sector.

The initiative was designed to provide practical exposure to solar energy technologies, renewable energy systems, green business opportunities, and sustainable development practices. Through structured exposure visits, technical demonstrations, industry interactions, and learning engagements, participants gained first-hand understanding of modern solar energy applications and emerging employment opportunities within the green economy.

The program connected youth with renewable energy professionals, technology providers, training institutions, and industry stakeholders to strengthen workforce readiness and encourage participation in environmentally sustainable economic sectors.

Scope of Work & Objectives

As Pakistan continues to face energy challenges and climate-related risks, renewable energy has emerged as a critical component of sustainable development. The Solar Energy Development Exposure Visit Program was designed to bridge the youth unemployment gap by introducing young people to the renewable energy sector and helping them understand future opportunities in green skills, clean energy technologies, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Methodology

The project successfully engaged over 500 youth beneficiaries, significantly improving their understanding of renewable energy technologies and expanding awareness of employment and entrepreneurship opportunities within the green economy.

By connecting young people directly with renewable energy professionals and technology providers, the initiative contributed to vital workforce preparedness while encouraging participation in environmentally responsible economic sectors.
